I haven't seen this before, but I have received ad notifications from the Photos app several times. I can't quite remember what they were advertising, but maybe prints or photo frames?
That is usually the moment when I start looking for alternatives or at least an alternative to their standard apps.
I had an Oppo phone that managed to serve me a single ad in the file manager. I immediately swapped it to the Fossify file manager even though I lost some functionality.
When the hardware you paid isn't your anymore. I guess hardware enshittification is creeping into all the devices. Even the PC monitors have started doing this now
“Ad notifications” doesn’t seem like the most illuminating phrase to describe this though - is there a better one?
